ANBG Photographic Group March Meeting | Friday, 26 March 2021 - 10:00am |
The March meeting of the ANBG Photographic Group will be held at 10am on Friday 26th March, in the ANBG Theatrette opposite the Visitor Information Centre. The topic is "Bendora Arboretum - being prepared" The presenter Graham Gall will talk about preparations for our excursion to Bendora Arboretum in April. The aim of this excursion is photographing Fungi and other features of this area. He will detail his techniques for photography of fungi etc. |

Peter and Joe will talk about the design of the conservatory building and plants. Peter will focus on the building being for botany and visitors. Joe will talk about thematic content and plans for displays as well as plant selection and succession, cultivation and conservatory horticulture. CELEBRATE EUCALYPT DAY with a Guided Eucalypt Walk.
Celebrate Australia's iconic genus on a free guided walk for National Eucalypt Day. Find out some amazing facts about eucalypts.
Guided Walks will be run Daily, from Monday 22 March to Sunday 28 March 2021 commencing at 11 am.
Cost: Free
Location: ANBG; meet at the clock near the rainforest bridge ten minutes before the start time of 11am. |
THURSDAY TALK - John Blay 'Some Special Places of the South East Forests.’ | Thursday, 18 March 2021 - 12:30pm to 1:30pm |
John will talk about the challenges of conservation in the region’s forests, along with its peoples and natural history, and the rediscovery of an important shared history pathway. The Bundian Way, now Heritage listed, is set to be one of the great Australian walks. This talk will be held in the ANBG Theatrette. After the talk, at 1:30pm, John is willing to sign copies of his book, Wild Nature, published in 2020, as well as copies of his two earlier books. The books are available for sale at the Botanical Bookshop. You are then invited to walk up to the plantings of Acacia blayana for a short discussion about them. John will lead this walk. Please meet at the clock on Banks Way (near the Cafe Bridge) at 2pm. Bookings are essential because of the COVID-19 guidelines related to the Thursday Talks and limited seating.
