Telling the Time by the Sun: An Enlightening Afternoon Friday, 18 March 2022 - 1:30pm to 5:15pm

Join us for an afternoon of sundials as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the gifting of the ANBG sundial to the Gardens by the Friends. This event, organised jointly by the Friends of the ANBG and the Australian Garden History Society, has had to be re-scheduled twice due to COVID restrictions – but we are really confident this time it will go ahead!

Starting in the Theatrette, hear from the sundial’s creator, Marg Folkard, about the art and science of sundials, and learn how the ANBG one works. Stroll up to the rockery to try out the sundial; enjoy a delicious afternoon tea; then drive to Mt Stromlo to experience a different type of sundial and tell the time with your own shadow.

Bookings are essential and will open 21 February at https://www.trybooking.com/BXNDV.
