Helen Fitzgerald ‘A Florilegium to celebrate 200 years for the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney.’

Helen will be talking about the 200 year anniversary of the Botanic Gardens in Sydney and the production by Beverly Allen of their first florilegium.

Helen Fitzgerald holds degrees in Art Education and Ecology and is a professional artist with 50 years of teaching in Art and Science both in Australia and the UK. She brings a wealth of experience to her particular interest in botanical and wildlife art which goes back over 3 decades, when she started teaching botanical illustration at with the ANU Centre for Continuing Education.

In 2002 she was awarded a gold medal from the Royal Horticultural Society for her botanical work and since then she has had the pleasure of seeing some of her students go on to London to receive gold medals and awards as well as succeeding in exhibitions in Australia.
