Centenary Chat: Linda Groom - Natural History Illustration in the First Fleet

Linda Groom will discuss natural history illustration in the First Fleet. In the late eighteenth century botanical illustration helped inform European audiences about the often startlingly different flora and fauna of the Australian colonies. Linda will draw upon her two recent books, First Fleet Artist: George Raper’s Birds and Plants of Australia (2009) and A Steady hand – Governor Hunter and His First Fleet Sketchbook (2012).
