Black Mountain Weeding

You are here

Saturday, 4 October 2014 - 9:00am to Sunday, 5 October 2014 - 9:45am

Members of the Friends of Black Mountain and Friends of the ANBG hold weeding parties to remove woody weeds from areas of Black Mountain, including areas close to the Botanic Gardens. The next weeding party is on Saturday 4 October from 9.00am to 12 noon. Work will be done in the area near the Barry Drive gate to the Black Mountain Reserve. There may be a little walking between weeds.

Meet: at the Barry Drive gate, which is just before Barry Drive merges at the traffic lights with Macarthur Ave to become Belconnen Way. Look carefully for the balloons on Barry Drive.

Bring: enthusiasm, your family and friends, water, (and your favourite pruning saw and/or secateurs and/or loppers, if you wish). Everyone is welcome.

Wear: hat, sunscreen, long-sleeved shirt, long pants, gloves, stout shoes.

Our delicious morning tea will be about 10.30am.

If you are planning to come, please email your name and phone number to  friendsofblackmountain@gmail.com, or phone Linda (0437 298 711) or Jean (02 6251 1601). It will be handy in case we need to contact you about any change of plans.

Further weeding parties are planned for 1 November and 6 December. Check the Calendar page of this website close to those dates for details.
