The Friends of the ANBG's Botanic Art Group will hold its 16th annual exhibition and sale at the Visitor Centre Gallery, with the theme ‘High Country Natives’.

Most of the works will be on sale, with a proportion of the proceeds donated to the Friends of the ANBG to support the Gardens. Several works will be chosen to be donated by the Friends to the Gardens' permanent collection. As in previous years, there will also be a work to be won by the lucky winner of a raffle, as well as a range of greeting cards.

This year’s exhibition theme of ‘High Country Natives’ has inspired a variety of approaches to composition including landscapes of habitat of native flora in unique alpine regions, as well as traditional compositions of native plants from alpine and other areas.

For purposes of this exhibition 'high country natives' has been defined as Australian natives that grow in alpine, sub-alpine, and montane and tableland geographical regions.

Members of the Friends are invited to a special preview prior to the opening of the exhibition. The preview, when all paintings are for sale, commences at 2pm on Friday 7 April. The exhibition will be open to the public on Saturday 8 April until 7 May.  We hope you will find the time to pay us a visit to see the exhibition at the Visitor Gallery, either at the preview or at another time. In previous years we have found many paintings sell quickly. Don’t be disappointed; take the opportunity to visit the exhibition at the Visitors Gallery early.
