Black Mountain - weeding working party

The Friends of Black Mountain arrange regular working parties to remove weeds from the Black Mountain Reserve. This is the first working party for 2016.

Meet: In the Southern end of the Rani Road car park, also labelled as the Black Mountain Reserve car park (see attached maps).

If coming from the north (red arrows on first map):

1. Drive south down Bindubi Street

2. Turn left into William Hovell Drive, staying in the left hand lane

3. Turn first left at the sign to the Black Mountain Reserve car park (the road also leads to the entrance to the Aranda Snow Gums area)

4. Drive to the end of the road, follow it around to the right into the Rani Road car park, and park at the southern end (see page 1 of attached maps)

If coming from the south (yellow arrows on first map):

1. Turn left off Tuggeranong Parkway towards westward lanes of William Hovell Drive

2. Turn right at the sign to the Black Mountain Reserve car park; this takes you into the eastward bound lanes of William Hovell Drive; get into the left hand lane

3. Turn left at the sign to the Black Mountain Reserve car park (the road also leads to the entrance to the Aranda Snow Gums area)

4. Drive to the end of the road, follow it around to the right into the Rani Road car park, and park at the southern end (see page 2 of attached map)

Bring:  Enthusiasm, your family and friends, water (and your favourite pruning saw and/or loppers, if you wish). Everyone is welcome.

Wear:  hat, sunscreen, long-sleeved shirt, long pants, gloves, stout shoes.

A delicious morning tea will be provided about 10.00am.

Booking helps us catering morning tea, and having a contact number for you helps us to let you know if arrangements need to change at the last minute (for example, adverse weather conditions.

Please note: weeding will be cancelled if there is a Total Fire Ban on that day. Please keep an eye and ear on the weather.
