Black Mountain Weeding Working Party

You are here

Saturday, 7 September 2019 - 9:00am to Sunday, 8 September 2019 - 11:45am

Have you read Rosemary Purdie's article about our terrific weeding work parties in the ANBG? It’s on pages 4 and 5 of the latest August issue of the Friends of ANBG newsletter, Fronds, with the title “Linking woody weed removal in ANBG with collections management”.

At the next weeding work party we shall focus on the small remaining area of woodland in the south-west corner of the Black Mountain Nature Reserve.

Meet: At the Caswell Drive entry on the mountain side.

Drive from Belconnen Way southwards along Caswell Drive towards Glenloch Interchange, Woden, or Tuggeranong. Note the yellow diamond shape advisory sign showing access road on left, and the blue and white “P” sign for parking. Pull into the carpark carefully. Look for banners. See Google map

Bring:  Enthusiasm, your family and friends, water. Everyone is welcome.

Wear:  hat, sunscreen, long-sleeved shirt, long pants, gloves, stout shoes.

We shall break for morning tea at about 10:30am

Please book: if you are planning to come, please email your name and phone number to friendsofblackmountain@gmail.com or phone 0437 298 711 as this helps with the catering.  Also, having your contact number helps us to let you know if arrangements need to change at the last minute (for example, adverse weather conditions).

If you need further information, please contact me by email or phone 0437 298 711.
We look forward to hearing from you, and seeing you at our next weeding work party.

Happy weeding.
