Guided walks in March

You are here

In the month of March some of the regular guided walks will have a special focus.

Feeling peckish?  The regular guided walks at 11 am and 2 pm on Saturday 9 March will feature Australian bush tucker plants. Discover the lemon myrtle, finger lime, native raspberry and quandong amongst many others on this one hour walk  led by Volunteer Guides. Your appetite will be stimulated by the culinary uses of native plants but unfortunately you will have to go hungry as picking or eating plants at the ANBG is not allowed!  Please meet at the Visitor Information Centre about ten minutes before the start times of 11am and 2 pm.

Eucalypts are the sight and smell of the Australian Bush and our Volunteer Guides are celebrating this iconic species which has its own day:  National Eucalypt Day on Saturday 23 March.  Find out some amazing facts about these trees which come in all shapes and sizes and dominate our landscape from alpine regions to the outback and edges of rainforest on a one hour ramble through the ANBG.  The regular guided walks at 11am from  Saturday 23 March until Sunday 31 March will focus on eucalypts.  Please meet at the Visitor Information Centre about ten minutes before the start time of 11am.

Two other walks are also being offered on the 30th and 31st March.  Take this opportunity to look at things that aren’t quite what they seem in the plant world on this one hour guided ramble through the ANBG with Volunteer Guide Pam Cooke.  Bookings for the 30th March are being taken at https://register.eventarc.net/e/42346, bookings for the 31st March can be made at https://register.eventarc.net/e/42347.
