The Friends Plant Recognition Group meets monthly to deepen our understanding of how to recognise a particular group of plants. A workshop leader with expertise in the specific area presents an overview and representative specimens are available to examine. The Group has microscopes and hand lenses available to enable more detailed study of the specimens. We have designed a short survey to help plan sessions that will appeal to Friends. Could you please complete the survey and return it to plantname@friendsanbg.org.au before 17 August?
Council is very pleased to announce that the Membership Project Team has made good progress with the procurement of a new membership system for Friends. Council is satisfied that Member Jungle is the best option available to us for hosting our new system. Further information on selection, approvals and progress is available here. We hope Member Jungle will be ready to ‘go live’ in November this year, after the coming round of membership renewals has been completed using the existing system.
The Membership Team carries out a central role in our organisation. It deals with enquiries, processes applications and renewals, and keeps the details on the Register of Members up-to-date. This requires good liaison skills and the ability to work cooperatively within a small team. If you are interested in becoming part of the team, please email bulletin@friendsanbg.org.au
