‘The flowers that bloom in the spring tra la!’ Australia has a wide diversity of flowers, such as delicate orchids, tiny thryptomene, stunning waratahs and big impressive gymea lilies. Discover many of the species in flower this spring on a free guided walk.  Daily from Monday October 10th to Sunday October 16th 11am-12 noon. Meet at the clock near the bridge. No booking required for individuals, but groups of seven or more people should contact walks@friendsanbg.org.au a week before the planned walk.

Sally Holliday ‘Exploring Wellbeing through Nature’ Thursday, 13 October 2022 - 12:30pm to 1:30pm

Sally, from Landcare ACT, will explore the art of nature-connection and the myriad ways this intentional practice enhances wellbeing.

Special Talk: Vegetation assessment of the Coral Sea Marine Park coral cays Tuesday, 11 October 2022 - 1:00pm to 2:00pm

Over the past four years, Parks Australia have undertaken annual ecological assessment voyages to the cays of the Coral Sea Marine Park. This presentation, to be heald in the ANBG Theatrette, will describe the methods and outcomes of vegetation assessments carried out during these voyages.  Joy and Larry Brushe are active volunteers for Gladstone Regional Council’s Tondoon Botanic Gardens and are also volunteers with the Coral Sea Marine Park.

Discover some spring-flowering native terrestrial orchids and learn something more of this fascinating group of plants with Jean Egan, Matt Mullaney and Soko Okado. MEET at the car park on the mountain side of Caswell Drive. Look for FOBM banners (from Belconnen Way drive south towards Glenloch Interchange). BYO enthusiasm, friends, morning tea, hat, sunblock, water, stout shoes, & hand lens. BOOKED OUT, sorry.
