New website

We launched this new website on 16 April 2012. It is the culmination of over a year’s work, involving many members of the Friends, especially the various sub-groups and committees which make the organisation so vibrant and interesting. We aimed to make the website attractive, informative and easy to navigate and hope we have succeeded. Some fine-tuning and further development will take place over the coming weeks.

We thank all those who helped in this work, especially David More, website consultant and designer. David guided the project from the start, through lots of discussion and liaison, and contributed a huge amount of time free of charge. Our graphic designer is Siobhan Duffy, to whom we are very grateful.

We particularly acknowledge the work of Shirley McKeown who set up the original Friends website over 15 years ago and has managed it since. This was a ground-breaking achievement for a community organisation at the time and the Friends are enormously appreciative of Shirley’s work.
