The most recent biennial conference of the Association of Friends of Botanic Gardens was held at the Australian Arid Lands Botanic Garden, Port Augusta, on 18 and 19 August 2012. The conference was attended by some 150 members of Friends of Botanic Gardens groups from around Australia and New Zealand, including seven members of the Friends of the ANBG. The conference was an enjoyable and rewarding experience, with a mixture of stimulating talks and fascinating walks in the wonderful Arid Lands Botanic Garden.

One of our members, Warwick Wright, has been a member of the Association’s committee for many years and is now Vice-President of the Association. Another of our members, Anne Rawson, edits the Association’s newsletter Campsis which is produced twice a year. Campsis may be accessed from the Association’s website at http://www.friendsbotanicgardens.org/.

The Association’s next conference will be at the Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens in 2014.
