Discover a selection of Australia’s iconic eucalypts as you follow this self-guided walk through the Australian National Botanic Gardens. Pick up a printed brochure from the Visitor Centre and follow the map to 20 different species of eucalypt. Each of the featured trees has an attractive and informative sign describing key features of that species. The walk covers a distance of 1.8 km and will take around 1 hour.

The project was funded by by Eucalypt Australia (previously the Bjarne K Dahl Trust) and the Friends Public Fund. This is a self-guided walk featuring 22 iconic eucalypts growing in the Australian National Botanic Gardens. Each of the 22 trees has an attractive and informative sign describing key features of that species. A printed brochure includes a map of the walking route and more information about eucalypts. The signs were originally installed in early 2013, and were replaced in 2021 when the Walk was refreshed and updated.

The route now includes new examples of the different species, taking account of the growth of new trees and decline of some older specimens since the walk was originally established in 2013.

The update has been a partnered project with Eucalypt Australia, and involved considerable time and planning by the Visitor Experience team as well invaluable advice from Volunteer Guide John Turnbull.

The new brochure is available from the Visitor Information Centre and can also be downloaded in PDF format (1.95 MB).
