Botanic Art Group

You are here

If you love native plants and enjoy drawing and painting, then the Botanic Art Group is for you.

We meet to paint and draw Australian plants in the wonderful environment of the Gardens, in an informal and friendly atmosphere.

We are a group of artists who have a special interest in Australian native plants. We are privileged to be able to portray plants from every state and territory. Some of these plants may be otherwise inaccessible to other artists, due to their remote habitat or their rarity.

Artists of all levels of experience can join the Group. There is no formal teaching or mentoring, but the atmosphere is relaxed and everyone is happy to share their experiences.

There is no cost to join the Group, but you must be a member of the Friends.

Monthly sessions

There are currently two group sessions:

  • Group 1 – second Thursday of each month
  • Group 2 – fourth Wednesday of each month.

Both groups currently meet in the morning, usually from 9 am to 2 pm. Members are notified of the venue by email before each session.
