We rely on only one type of tea tree oil for human use but the Australian tea tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) produces several types of essential oils. Carlos will describe current studies into how the chemical diversity in the tea tree is influencing the ecological interactions and discuss why it is important to preserve natural variation in this species.

Carlos Segara Bustos is a PhD student at ANU.
