Would you like to become a volunteer guide
at the ANBG?
The Volunteer Guide Service is a joint program of the Staff and Friends of the
Australian National Botanic Gardens. The aim of the program is to increase visitors'
enjoyment and knowledge of the Gardens;
provide visitors with information
on the Gardens, its scientific, educational, recreational and conservation roles;
on the biology, horticulture and use of Australian plants; and build community support
for the institution.
Training programs are conducted approximately every two years, or as needed.
Guides are selected for training by application and interview.
The training course usually consists of 10 days over 5 weeks.
It is anticipated that the next course will take place in 2012.
