The Gardens’ summer concert season - Summer Sounds - is sponsored and supported each year
by the Friends, and features leading Canberra musicians.
Admission is by donation and proceeds pay for the concert season and are also used by the Friends to
support the Gardens. The wonderful ambience of the Botanic Gardens in late afternoon in summer,
relaxed environment and great music always attracts large crowds.
Members of the Friends can be involved in a number of ways, and thoroughly enjoy themselves
at the same time! Lots of helpers are always needed and those who can assist are asked to put their names
on the roster in the Friends’ Lounge from 1 December.
The following photographs give a good indication of the happy, relaxed environment we all enjoy
at these events while listening to the great music.
